The values of The Federation of Swedish Speaking Visually Impaired in Finland (FSVIF)

Involvement and equality

Our goal is to make different areas of society and environment more accessible for all. The principle of equal rights means that all human beings are equal. The interests of the individual, Swedish-speaking visually impaired, are the basis of all the efforts of the FSVIF.

Openness

The distinguishing feature of our organization is openness, both internally and externally. The motives of decisions and actions should be outspoken. We gladly receive response and handle it seriously and with utmost attention.

Dynamics

It is the task of the organization to continuously follow up its strategies and priorities, because the society and environment change. This leads to varying needs concerning full involvement of visually impaired.

Effective and future-based use of resources

The usage of time and means within the organization should be in proportion to the meaning various acitivities have for visually impaired. Investments are made with consideration to sustainable visions of the future.

Appreciation of efforts

We want to show our appreciation for all the positive efforts concerning the organization made by individuals or groups, including visually impaired, other actors in the society, relatives and voluntary.

Affinity and solidarity

Among ourselves we want to help each other to work for the common cause of all visually impaired and other disabled people, exchange experiences and assist in any way we can.
Adopted on the election meeting of The Federation of Swedish Speaking Visually Impaired in Finland, 8th of November 1998.
